Aquarium of the University
of Murcia
The aquarium of the University of Murcia
is a marvellous complement to the cultural and playful offer
in Murcia.
It is a space opened to the public where an interesting
educative and research labour is being carried out.
The aquarium includes the most interesting and striking
species of the world's marine fauna.
In the tour visitors will see environments of reefs with
corals and real fishes from the Indic Ocean, the Pacific
Ocean, the Red Sea, the Caribbean Sea and of course, a vast
representation of the different communities living in the
Mediterranean and the Menor Sea.
Besides sharks, complex associations are shown between different
marine animals (symbiosis between clown fishes and anemones...)
and even examples of adaptation to diverse environments,
as it is the case of the stone fish (one of the most poisonous
animals of the world).
